    Group Description

Step into the enchanting world of Eastern Orthodox theology, where angelology takes center stage. Angels are revered as crucial participants in God’s master plan for humanity, standing apart from humans as celestial messengers and intermediaries. Delving into this tradition, you’ll find a mystical array of nine angelic orders, each with its unique purpose and calling. Glide with the Seraphim, whose realm is worship and glorification of God, or seek protection from the Archangels, tasked with guarding and guiding humanity through life’s twists and turns. These divine beings are more than just myths. Throughout history, millions have believed them to be real, tangible forces of good in the world.

Angels, according to Orthodox belief, are ethereal beings without physical form, but they have been known to appear to people in dreams or visions. The Orthodox Church affirms that angels possess free will, giving them the ability to choose whether to obey God or rebel – as demonstrated by Satan and his rebellious angels. In Orthodox worship, angels are revered and celebrated in various ways, including liturgy and hymns. One such celebration recognized as a major event on the Orthodox calendar is the feast day of the Archangel Michael, held every November 8th.
